Neither exotic or luxury, but very very cool!

Could not resist posting a couple of images of this beautiful Mustang that we have just received. It is a very scarce 1966 2+2 fastback with the 289 Edelbrock in it, and an awesome cream interior with the fold over rear seats. It has 86,000 original miles. The car has dealer fitted a/c which still blows up a storm, and we have the original window sticker from '66 when it was sold for $3300!. It recently had a full block and transmission overhaul, so it is ready to go. It fires up every time and sounds fantastic. It is still in its original color of Ford Ivy Green. It really is a thing of beauty.

Maserati Gran Turismo S

This was our fist look, last weekend, at the new 2009 Maserati Gran Turismo S. We had all read the hype from Maserati on the car, but were all a little dubious when the car actually showed up. I couldnt get my head around how 30 extra BHP and a new transmission would make that much difference to the car. I was very, very wrong. This thing is an animal.

The new 4.7 liter 433 bhp engine, coupled to a rear mounted six speed electro-actuated Graziano dual clutch plate gearbox is awesome. Maserati state categorically in their literature that this car is meant to be driven in Manual + Sport and they are absolutely right. MC shift mode is activated, along with a exhaust bypass system that gives the engine a note that even Lamborghini would be proud of. Once you get above 5500rpm and 80% throttle, gear shifts of 100 milliseconds are standard!. The stiffer springs and dampers are noticeably present and very necessary and fitting for a vehicle at this performance level. The interior is very similar to the standard Gran Turismo, the main difference being the lack of floor mounted gear shift, replaced by a first gear and reverse button, and bigger shifter paddles. As you accelerate endlessly through those 6 gears you wonder why anyone would want to drive anything else. I love this car!. Maserati are giving us a price of around $140,000, and the first cars will be here late October-ish. It is well worth the wait.

The First blog post!!

Thought this one would be a good car to christen the blog with:
We recently got and sold our first 2009 Lamborghini LP560-4. We had actually already seen the car, as we had a passive display model here for the opening of our new showroom in July, but we were not allowed to play with that one. It was in monocerus white with a nero perseus interior, and it was gorgeous......................................

The interior of the car is pretty similar to previous models, except for a new knurled chrome finish to the central bank of switches below the main satnav screen. The exterior has certainly gone through some changes: At the rear the lights no longer fold over the top of the engine cover, and there is a large black grill going across the full length of the rear, which makes the car appear wider and closer to the floor. The front end is looking very Reventon-ish with newly shaped y style headlights, grills and apron.
Performance wise the car is still a beast!. The new 5.2 ltr V10 performs really well with its new FSI direct injection system and 398ft-lbs of torque. The engine note is loud and aggressive as you would expect, and still unmistakeable as a Lambo. Highway 40 did not know what hit it!.
It lasted a couple of days before it was snapped up!.

Welcome to MidWest ExoticCars!!

Hi, my name is Dave and I work at the Bentley, Maserati, Bugatti and Lamborghini dealership in the Chesterfield Valley in St Louis. I have been looking around out there for a local site for exotic and very high end luxury non domestic vehicle enthusiasts who do not want to be pidgeon holed into one specific marque of car, and I couldnt find one for us types who do not want to drift, or motocross, or autocross or who are not specifically Ferrari nuts, Rolls Royce types or Bugatti-philes.
I figure that this could be a free forum to post images of your own exotic, ask for help from other enthusuasts about your car, get info on the car you are thinking about buying, or to generally check out what is out there and maybe add your comments ( Within reason). I will, of course, add images and info on cars that we get through the doors of the dealership, both new and pre-owned, and you can let me know whether you like them or not ( No comments that I have to edit please!).
The intention is to keep this site as varied as possible, and not to get bogged down into one particular niche, so I will be posting details of some obnoxiously expensive and quick exotics and also some very high end super luxury vehicles. I hope that there are enough people out there that are proud enough of their baby to post images and comments and to respond and comment on others posts.
Enjoy and get blogging!.
